There will be a number of solo acts and duets but one of the main attractions will be the first live performance of a New Band called BACK-ROADS. This group was brought together rather recently, Tim and Bryce have been playing together for about 7-8 months now, and recently brought the group together including Jordan K. on drums and a temporary bassist for this CD, Tim and Bryce recently competed in the 2007 High School Idol Original Category and won with their song "Yesterday" written and music by Tim. Their Next step is the CD entitled "Sketched" and Tim plans to compete in Canadian Idol in Spring 2008. This band consists of Bryce Smith on guitar, Tim Alberson on vocals and guitar, and the one and only Jordan Krawczuk on drums and guitar with Jared Shaaf on bass guitar. They have been practicing extensively for this engagement which is a prelude into their first CD "Sketched" that they are currently recording at Wolf Ear Studio for release hopefully by Christmas but more like early winter. Sketched have invested a lot of time and effort into this project which will be an ac compilation of songs that have been written by some of the members and as a group. The band will be greatly anticipated by all and some of their individual efforts will probably show up also along with many others, this is a must see production. By the way the production will be sponsored by Live From The Rock Blues & Folk Society with sound engineering by Russell Krawczuk, don't miss it.

Time to but the BMW down for the Winter

This is the 24th winter for my 1984 M325, I drove my BMW in the winter for the first 12 years of its life, but since moving to Red Rock I have been able to take the car off the road for the winter months because I could walk or ride my bike to work. The Bimmer looks and runs great and has been very reliable over the many years, I love pushing it hard but have tried to take it easy on the old babe but it love to go and it a lot of fun to play with. The snow has it the ground and I like to put it away before the salt its the roads which has happened already and I need to get an oil change before it goes to sleep, so this will be a challenge to get to the service location on a dry day with minimal exposure to the salt. The BMW has 358,000 km's and I only use 100% synthetic oil like Mobil 1 or Syntec to best protect my investment and it seems to work for me because as hard as I push this BMW, the engine has never failed me an does not show any signs of burning any oil. I would like to describe my car in greater detail if anyone is interested, but at this time I will just say that I will be waiting for the warm spring days to come so I can bring my BMW back to life again for an other season of the ultimate driving experience.

Red Rock Peewee Rangers 4th place - Schreiber Tourney

It was another weekend in Schreiber on Nov. 3rd and 4th for hockey with the Peewee teams this time, but not with the success the Midget team had last weekend. We started out looking good against the Nipigon Elks with a big win of 8-1 then we played Marathon blue which was an OK game, at least it was close competition but Marathon pulled out the win in the last few minutes of the 3rd period. Later that day we played our third game with the host team of Schreiber Northstars, that also was a close game and going into the end of the third period we were down 1-2 but in the last minute we scored to end the game in a tie. "Jonathan scoring against Schreiber"

The next day Sunday, we had our 2nd early 9:00 am start with a game against Marathon Black whom had some very large and intimidating kids that were not all that friendly to play against. We bounced off of them for a while then our team started to play a little hesitant with the puck and the Marathon team hovering over them with a big hand to face. This ended with a 9-1 loss which put us in a position in the finals to play them again for a playoff position. By the way the Marathon Black team finished round robin in 1st place with no loses, I wonder why. So we played them again with the same results and an even rougher play style then the previous match up with them leaving our players just trying to get rid of the puck before they get compressed into the ice surface.
I was not impressed by this tournament this year, the refereeing was not good which lead to some unfair game play which spoiled what could have been some competitive hockey because it is in those players to play great hockey given an even playing field. Some of the teams have had a reputation for a long time of extreme rough play, to bad the towns, the ref's, the coaches, and the parents put up with this, when some individual had started that style back in the day, it has continued to plaque our tournaments with leaving a terrible taste in our mouths while we take the long drive home.

Nipigon Elks Schrieber Torney Champs.

This past weekend of October 26-28 2007 I spent Friday and Sunday in Schrieber Ontario attending one of my sons First of the year Midget Tournament and also as a photographer for the group photo. The team played well and did not lose a game all weekend but in the final game for the gold we were down going into the third period with a score of 4-1. The team came out flying and in the first 10 minutes got 3 goals to tie the game up. This held for some time, looking like we would end in a tie and have to go into overtime but then my son got the break he needed and scored the winning goal, then to make sure with out a doubt he scored again to end the game 6-4 to win the gold.

I had taken photo's all through the game looking for that form that would look like a poster photo for the NHL player card, I don't think I got it this time none the less there are some good ones in the pack that my son likes so I may work with those ones. My camera is giving me a slight problem so I must take it in for a checkup and if all fails I hope to upgrade to a new camera that I have been looking at for some time, if you would like to discuss camera's as to what I am looking for or what I have been using and the difference between the them or what I am using them for, comment or discuss please. If you have any interest in the Nipigon Elks Midget Hockey team I may be able to help with that also. This photo has been sent to two of the local papers for articles to be written on the Tournament, thanks for listening.

Hello to those who are looking for a great festival with a very diverse selection of different types of music, something for everyone on the Northern shore of Lake Superior situated on Nipigon Bay, in the most beautiful location of Red Rock, Ontario.
The date for the 6th annual Festival is on the second weekend of August, being

At this time the site has all the information from the 2007 festival but will get updated in the near future so don't be discouraged with the time line for this update, we have to finish the 2007 years tally's and sorts. I can answer may of your questions or find the answers if I can't answer it right away. As I may have mentioned else where, I am the Technical Director, Stage Director, and many other jobs, for the Live From The Rock Blues and Folk Festival, so I should be able to help out...
